Did you write this Judith, it is very good, and definitely sums up, those horrible grey, dreary days we often get. My winter-flowering clematis is planted in an east/west aspect, it does tend to flower more on the east side, but maybe because we have got the garage on the west. I definitely think it is worth a go, I know they are a bit pricey, but on this occasion I bought my plants from Crocus, they have all survived, so worth the little bit extra. x
